The John Davies photo exhibition'Kosen' at Leica Ginza Six

Leica Ginza Six has held the John Davies photo exhibition'Kosen'. I enjoyed the presentation last month. The invitation said that we could see Mai (Japanese traditional dance) by Ms. Kosen who is John Davies's model. So I wore kimono with printed botanical patterns. This obi is embroidered with cute owls! The hue of Ms. Kosen's kimono and mine was similar. It was a coincidence!! There was a gold-leaf folding screen on tatami in the shop. Her dance was so beautiful and elegant, and the Maikosan (she wore ivory kimono) was so lovely! Mr. John Davies took photos beside the stage. He had taken photos of Ms. Kosen for five years, which was the period of her growing up from Maiko to Geiko. I got his photo book. There was a ceremony that is special and people can't see so much. I was so moved and inspired. The John Davies photo exhibition 'Kosen' is until 13th of December.

ライカ GINZA SIXで開催中のジョン・デイヴィス写真展でトークイベントがありました。 写真集のモデルとなった小扇さんの舞も披露されるということで、着物でお出かけしてきました。 １０月上旬の暑い日でしたので単衣の着物とふくろうの刺繍の半幅帯に。 ボタニカル柄の着物は、とてもきれいなろうけつ染めなんですよ。 偶然、小扇さんと色合いが似ていて嬉しくなりました。 いつもはライカのお店の中にある大きなテーブルが移動され、そこに畳と金屏風がありました。 小扇さんの舞は、凛とした美しさと艶があり本当にきれい。夢の中にいるような気分になりました。 舞妓さんもとても可愛いくて、大好きな『京の四季』では思わず口ずさんでしまうほど楽しかったです。 舞台袖で小扇さんを撮影していらしたジョン・デイヴィスさんは優しそうな方でした。 写真集には、小扇さんが舞妓さんから芸妓さんになるまでの５年間の写真が収められています。 衿替の貴重なお写真もあり、胸が熱くなる一冊。 宝物がまた一つ増えて嬉しいです。 写真展は12月13日までですので、銀座に行かれましたらぜひ♡
